Each congregation chooses the day and frequency they want to host. Most host once a month. We have a GREAT need for Tuesday,Wednesday, & Thursday night host.
We limit the number of guests per church to twelve (12) to make it easier for transportation.
The congregation provides transportation from Stepping Stones Safe Haven Day Center to the host site and back to the day center by 7 am the next morning.
The church will provide dinner, bedding, and breakfast for the women and children.
Stepping Stones Safe Haven will provide training for the congregation prior to hosting as well as ongoing training and support throughout the year.
Stepping Stones Safe Haven will provide a volunteer to stay with the church on their first night of hosting until lights out.
Stepping Stones Safe Haven provides the congregation with the safety guidelines our women/children are given upon registration.
We know that not all congregations have the same resources whether that be financial, volunteers, or physical space. Our host coordinator and team love to meet with potential hosts to discuss details and overcome anything that might stand in the way of the potential partnership. We’re here to help you help her.
We love to think creatively and outside the traditional box to see community working together to serve “the least of these” in our city. If you would be available to meet, we would love to meet with you and share more. In the meantime please like us on FB and follow our journey…. https://www.facebook.com/steppingstonestn/

Loved going to the churches. Brought different perspectives because they talked about having a relationship with God or just letting you vent about your unknowns. They didn’t press, just offered support. They sincerely care! The work done comes from the heart.

At first, I didn’t like it- I didn’t understand it. One of the churches we went to ended up not having the space set up. Me and another guest jumped in to help. Because of that, something clicked with me as I saw what it took to set up for us. I developed a total respect for them. I loved them. It helped me to grow and meet new people who have become such good friends. It’s neat to see how much love they have for people. Going out let me build friendships that sustained me in my new job after I left.
